Interviewed at Fortune Brainstorm: Green with On Paper host Maureen Kedes, Drew Schramm, Sr. VP Global Supply & Quality for Herman Miller discusses strategy, design and the importance of transparency in managing our environmental footprints.
“We’ve worked so hard at Herman Miller to make sure that we are doing absolutely the right thing for the environment and doing it in a very upfront way,” says Schramm.

At Herman Miller since 1998, Mr. Schramm has led a reengineering of the global supply management and logistics functions. This work has included extensive integration of key suppliers and the use of lean principles to reduce waste between Herman Miller and its customers. Additionally, Mr. Schramm is an advocate for Herman Miller’s Design for Environment protocol, leading development of a sustainable supply base, and is a member of the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) sustainability and social responsibility committee. Previously, he served Praxair Industrial Gases, Abbott Laboratories, and Avon Cosmetics in supply management and operational roles.
